A bit about me

Stories rule my days and are found in the mundane beats of life: overheard conversations, memories evoked or made by a meal, vignettes while in transit, and nudges from the natural world.

In my fiction work, I often explore themes of reinvention, love, aging, and the imprint of history on cities. Some preoccupations that turn up in my essay work include the Late Romantic period across music and poetry, natural sciences, wine as agriculture, the sonic-body connection of dance, and sourcing beauty in difficult times.

I have an MFA from New York University, where I was a Goldwater Fellow in Creative Writing, and a BFA in Media & Performing Arts from the Savannah College of Art and Design. I have twice been accepted as a fellow at Vermont Studio Center. Recent work has appeared in EcoTheo Review and on my Substack: The Late Romantics.

I live in New Orleans, where I’m a writer & wine director.
