A bit about me
Stories rule my days and are found in the mundane beats of life: overheard conversations, memories evoked or made by a meal, vignettes while in transit, and spatial atmosphere.
In my fiction work, I often explore themes of reinvention, love, aging, and the imprint of history on cities.
Some potent sources of influence, that turn up in my essay work, include the Late Romantic period across music and poetry, early color photography, wine as agriculture, and the sonic-body connection of my ballet practice.
I have an MFA from New York University, where I was a Goldwater Fellow in Creative Writing, and a BFA in Media & Performing Arts from the Savannah College of Art and Design. I have twice been accepted as a fellow at Vermont Studio Center. My prose has appeared in EcoTheo Review and Abe's Penny, among other publications, whereas essays have appeared across the LA Times Media Group and my Substack: The Late Romantics.
I live in New Orleans, where Iām a writer & wine director.
